MAYDUNA - the journey from Classic Tattoo Berlin towards the modern age

In May 2022 our beloved tattoo and piercing studio "Classic Tattoo Berlin" said goodbye to make room for a new and innovative concept. Our former scene studio became a modern tattoo and piercing service company, or in other words: MAYDUNA.

MAYDUNA, meaning that's us, is a one concept studio – but what does that mean?

We build on four pillars; aesthetics, quality, appreciation and innovation. In our studios you will be greeted by new, refreshing ideas and visions that contrast with the once of Classic Tattoo Berlin. It’s less about that the old looks no longer work, on the contrary, we were at full capacity. But we had outgrown the brand, its look and especially the image. Classic Tattoo Berlin has also enjoyed great esteem and can take credit for the satisfaction of numerous customers. Nevertheless, the idea developed to conceive and realise a new, contemporary design – the birth of MAYDUNA. The same old premises, but a completely different look. Bright, modern workspaces and elegant straight-lined, at the same time stylish, zeitgeist oriented reception and waiting areas are reminiscent of a design studio and provide a pleasant environment for our artists – just as for you.

Moving with the times: about the modern work-life balance

With a lot of new ideas, we are now focusing on a fresh and new format. Far from the prejudices anchored in society against tattoo studios and the dark image, we bring you tattoos and body jewellery as unique, individual design work and premium quality closer to you. At the same time, our studios embody an atmosphere where you can feel comfortable, express individual wishes; MAYDUNA stands for the start of a journey towards realization.

Our team consists of over 20 employees, including tattoo artists, piercers, store managers and assistants, and visual designers. In addition to contemporary working conditions, the focus is on the four-day workweek, true to the Belgian system. In contrast to most studios in Germany, us at MAYDUNA are not independent service providers, but belong to a consistent team and are permanently employed – which sets us apart from the usual models. We believe that not only our studios should be modern, but also everything that happens behind the scenes – for us, this clearly includes the working atmosphere. That's why we want to offer all our employees the possibility of a work-life balance. In addition to the four working days, team members have more time to focus on their private lives and use the free time in the sense of a creative break.

The origin of our creativity: get to know our artists

We want you to know our artists as well as we do each other. So we asked them some questions: Who or what influences their art? What is their personal favourite tattoo on their body? What do they like best about tattooing or piercing? How would they describe their art? What would be their dream project? And how do they gather their inspiration? The answers are as varied and colourful as our artists themselves. While for one or the other foreign cultures and distant traditions flow into the creative flow, others gather their inspiration from nature or music. In our interviews, you can get to know our artists in detail and find the right artist for your desired work.

What matters: our tattoo studio

The main components of MAYDUNA are clear: tattoos and jewellery. All our artists tattoo with passion – that means with care and attention to detail. MAYDUNA attaches importance to high standards combined with individual advice and aesthetics of the work. Our team educates, sensitises for the wearing of body art and offers customers any space for their own ideas and wishes. And the work is pretty diverse: whether Neo-Traditional, Old School, Japanese Style, Dark Style, Dirty Ornaments, Soft- and Whimiscal Style, Realisitc-Hatching, Fineline and Delicate Design or many other specialisations – the offer is large and all-encompassing.

High quality jewellery for high quality piercings.

We use high quality products for our piercings. 90% of the jewellery we use and sell is made exclusively of gold, a material that is considered to have anti-allergenic properties and which is ideal for use as initial jewellery. In addition, MAYDUNA works in accordance with the most modern standards and is using sterile and high quality materials. Our piercers first advise you in a conversation, mark the desired location, style and pierce the selected position. Hygiene and professionalism are indispensable here.

With MAYDUNA we have successfully rebranded and reinvented ourselves – a big step in the tattoo and piercing industry has been taken. Whoever comes to us does not have to belong to a certain scene, be particularly brave or edgy, but value quality and aesthetics. We welcome every customer with open arms.

By being serious, open-minded and modern, we want to eliminate stereotypes of the partly prejudiced scene with a new and innovative form of tattoo and piercing studios.
