At MAYDUNA, quality begins with responsibility. We believe that a good piercing is more than just beautiful jewelry—it is a decision for your body, for your well-being, and for something meant to stay with you for a long time.

Over many years, we have searched for the best materials with care and dedication. Today, we use exclusively body-friendly, hypoallergenic materials that exceed statutory requirements. These include, among others, implant-grade titanium and solid 14- and 18-karat gold—materials that are not only beautiful but also biocompatible and durable.

Our jewelry comes from selected partner companies that uphold the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety. Each piece is high-polish finished and crafted with internal threading or as a seamless unit—ensuring it not only feels comfortable but also fits securely and supports the healing process. Should a manufacturing defect occur—such as a loose stone or unexpected discoloration—our quality guarantee applies: we will arrange for a repair or replace the piece quickly and hassle-free.

As a general rule, the listed piercing prices do not include jewelry—and there is a good reason for this: no two people are alike, and no single piece of jewelry suits every style. That is why you can personally select your initial jewelry from our range—from simple titanium options to exquisite gold pieces featuring Swarovski crystals, genuine gemstones, or even diamonds. This way, you decide exactly what suits you best.

Ultimately, the cost of your new piercing depends entirely on the jewelry you choose. It is best to stop by and see us in person—our team will take the time to advise you and work with you to find the perfect combination of style, functionality, and comfort.

Our services start at €29. We also offer titanium jewelry starting at €29. With every new piercing, we give you a complimentary goodie bag—including sterile saline solution for cleaning and helpful aftercare tips.

If you get the same piercing twice in a single session—for example, both nipples or a double helix—the price for the second piercing is reduced to just €39. Dermal anchors and earlobe piercings are excluded from this offer.

If you are 18 or older, an official photo ID (e.g., national ID card, driver’s license, e-card, or passport) is all you need to get the piercing you want. Simple, straightforward—and, of course, responsible.

If you are between 16 and 18 years old, we also require written consent from a legal guardian. This must be signed and accompanied by a copy of a valid photo ID. If legal guardianship is not clearly evident from the ID (e.g., due to different surnames or addresses), additional proof—such as a custody order—is required.

The written consent must include the following information:

  • exactly which piercing may be performed
  • your full name and date of birth
  • the full name and date of birth of the person with parental responsibility
  • the signature of the person with parental responsibility
  • as well as a clearly legible copy of your photo ID

If you are between 14 and 16 years old, you must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Both of you must be able to provide proof of identity, and the status of legal guardian must be evident from the identification documents (or, in case of doubt, supported by proof of custody).

For standard ear piercings (specifically lobe piercings), we require a minimum age of seven years. In this case, the presence of at least one legal guardian is mandatory. Both the child and the accompanying adult must be able to provide proof of identity.

We hear this question at the studio almost every day—and it is a perfectly valid one. After all, it’s one of the most important things to consider before deciding to get a piercing. The honest answer? A little bit, yes—but usually far less than you might think.

Our experienced piercers work with a steady hand, precise technique, and a great deal of empathy. The actual piercing takes just a brief moment and, for most people, feels more like a quick pinch or sharp prick. Many clients are surprised by how quick and simple the process is—and realize that their pre-piercing nerves were actually the worst part.

Afterwards, the pierced area may feel slightly warm or have a mild burning sensation—this, too, is completely normal. This sensation usually subsides quickly, and you can go about your daily routine as usual.

If you are unsure or have any questions, we will take the time for you—and help make your piercing experience as pleasant as possible.

When you arrive at MAYDUNA, our team will give you a warm welcome and take the time to attend to you. During a detailed consultation, you will work with our experts to find the jewelry that best suits your piercing and your style. If you wish, we can explain everything you need to know—from different gold alloys and gemstone cuts to the anatomical details relevant to your specific piercing.

Once you have chosen your desired jewelry, we begin the professional sterilization process.* At the same time, we conduct a detailed consultation with you. During this session, you will learn everything about potential risks, proper aftercare, our ongoing aftercare service, and your options for future jewelry once your piercing has healed.

Once all questions have been answered, you fill out a consent form—please don’t forget to bring your valid photo ID.

We then escort you to one of our quiet, private treatment rooms. Here, you and your well-being are the top priority. The area to be treated is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before we mark the exact position. You can take your time to review the placement and give your approval.

Now the actual piercing process takes place and the jewelry is inserted—quickly, precisely, and with a great deal of experience.

To wrap up, we will go over the key aftercare tips once more and explain how you can reach us at any time if you have questions.

Congratulations – your new piercing is perfect!

  • For sterilization, we use modern STATIM and ENBIO rapid sterilizers, ensuring that every piece of jewelry is processed individually and safely. This method is exceptionally fast and highly reliable, and is also used in medical settings, such as dentistry. If you wish, we would be happy to show you our sterilization processes and our comprehensive documentation right here on-site.

At MAYDUNA, the choice is yours: you can drop by spontaneously at any time without an appointment—or conveniently secure your preferred slot in advance using our online booking tool.

Please note that our services and high-quality jewelry are in high demand, especially on weekends and around public holidays. On such days, you may experience longer wait times without an appointment.

That’s why we recommend booking your appointment in advance, either online or by phone. This ensures you are scheduled in and allows you to enjoy your visit in a relaxed manner.

If you do decide to drop by spontaneously, the rule is: provided our schedule allows, we will attend to you immediately, without any wait.

Does your piercing feel unusual? Is it red, swollen, or looking different than usual? Do you want to change the jewelry but aren’t sure how? Or has the jewelry been out for a while, and you’re wondering if the piercing channel has already closed up?

Then don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! Our experienced team is here to offer advice and practical support, providing expert assistance with any questions you have about piercings.

Important: Well-intentioned advice from friends, relatives, or even medical personnel without piercing experience can do more harm than good. With us, you receive expert support based on genuine know-how and daily practical experience.

We generally advise against getting a new piercing during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Your body is in an exceptional state—hormonal changes, an altered immune system, and many additional demands are already placing a significant strain on it.

A fresh piercing is a wound that requires care and proper healing. Especially during this sensitive phase, the healing process can be unpredictable and entail unnecessary strain—for both you and your baby.

That’s why we recommend waiting to get a piercing until your body is back in balance and you have finished breastfeeding. You are doing something amazing right now—and your body deserves to focus entirely on that.

Do you already have a piece of jewelry you’d like to use for your piercing? We completely understand—many people associate such pieces with personal memories or a unique style.

To ensure that your piercing experience with us is not only beautiful but also safe, MAYDUNA adheres to a clear quality standard: for fresh piercings, we use exclusively jewelry available directly from our studio. This ensures that every piece is biocompatible, impeccably crafted, sterilized, and anatomically appropriate.

If your piercing is already fully healed, we would be happy to check whether the jewelry you brought with you can be inserted. To do so, it should:

  • made of high-quality titanium or at least 14 karat gold,
  • made of high-quality titanium or at least 14 karat gold,
  • be polished to a mirror finish,
  • and, of course, fit your anatomy perfectly.

Not sure? No problem – simply bring your jewelry along. We’ll provide honest, expert advice right there.

Please understand that jewelry which has not been inspected, sterilized, and documented by our team cannot be used for new piercings. After all, our policy is that safety always comes first.

We get asked this question often—and the answer is: not directly, but yes. Unfortunately, pure silver isn’t a good choice for piercings. It reacts with bodily fluids and can oxidize, not only discoloring the jewelry but also permanently staining your skin dark. That is a risk we at MAYDUNA do not want to take—and won’t.

That’s why you won’t find silver jewelry here. What you will find, however, are safe, high-quality alternatives that look just as elegant—white gold, above all.

White gold offers the same cool, silvery look but is significantly more durable, does not oxidize, and is perfectly suited for long-term wear in the body. Whether minimalist or glamorous, our range of white gold jewelry combines aesthetics with the highest standards of medical safety.

That way, you don’t have to compromise on your style—and at the same time, you get the best for your body.

We know how important it is for your new jewelry to fit perfectly and suit you. That’s why we take plenty of time for a personal consultation at MAYDUNA—so you feel completely confident before you buy.

Please understand that piercing jewelry cannot be exchanged or returned. The reason for this is simple: jewelry that comes into contact with the body is subject to strict hygiene regulations. Contamination could occur even during a trial fitting; passing the item on to someone else would therefore not only be unhygienic but also prohibited by health department regulations.

To ensure you still make the right choice, our experienced piercers are happy to assist you with the selection—whether it concerns the right length, gauge, or design. This way, you can be confident that your new piece of jewelry is not only beautiful but also functional and comfortable.

After all, our goal is for you to feel completely comfortable with your new piercing—right from the very first moment.

At MAYDUNA, you get piercing jewelry that not only looks great but also meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and aesthetics. Every piece we carry has been selected with the utmost care—because your body deserves only the best.

Our selection comes exclusively from renowned international jewelry manufacturers known for their excellent craftsmanship and use of body-friendly materials. These include well-known brands such as BVLA (Body Vision Los Angeles), Norvoch, Buddha Jewelry, Ember Body Jewelry, Junipurr Jewelry, LeRoi Fine Jewelry, Neometal, Anatometal, Modern Mood Body Jewelry, and many others.

Whether delicate, opulent, or minimalist, we offer a wide range of designs that can be combined to suit your personal style. If a piece you desire happens to be out of stock, we will gladly do our best to order it for you. Just let us know—we make the possible happen.

Congratulations on your new piercing!

You’ve taken the first step—now the exciting healing phase begins. With the right care, you play a crucial role in ensuring your piercing heals well and that you enjoy it for a long time.

Clean hands, safe care
Please wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing. Cleanliness is the most important protection against infection.

Using the care spray – gentle & effective
Use the care spray we recommend by spraying it directly onto the piercing. Let the solution sit for at least one minute—without moving the jewelry! Thanks to capillary action, the spray distributes itself throughout the piercing channel. Twisting or sliding the jewelry can unnecessarily irritate the fresh wound or introduce germs.

Carefully remove any crusty deposits
If deposits form around the jewelry, gently soften them with warm water. You can then remove them using a clean cotton swab or a paper towel—please do not use your fingers or fingernails!

Don’t forget to dry it.
After cleaning, gently pat the area dry with a clean paper towel.

Jewelry Adjustment for Optimal Healing
For certain piercings—such as those in the ear cartilage, lip, or tongue—it is necessary to switch to a shorter bar once the swelling has gone down. Jewelry that is too long can irritate the piercing channel, cause shifting, and hinder the healing process. We would be happy to advise you on the right time to make this change.

Twice a day is perfectly sufficient.
You only need to carry out the described aftercare routine in the morning and evening. Important: Under no circumstances should you remove the jewelry yourself during the entire healing period!

Is your piercing suddenly feeling uncomfortable? Are you noticing severe pain, unusually heavy swelling, or small blisters, or are you unsure if the jewelry is still sitting correctly?

In that case: Please get in touch with us first. We are here for you – with experience, expertise, and the right perspective on the situation.

Crucially: Never remove the jewelry yourself!
Even though it might be tempting, taking it out can cause wound secretions or tissue remnants to become encapsulated within the piercing channel—and that is precisely what can trigger serious complications.

Make use of your follow-up appointment
We strongly recommend that you attend your scheduled check-up appointment. This allows us to assess the healing process, adjust your jewelry if necessary, and ensure that everything is progressing optimally.

If you are unsure, it is better to ask one time too many – we are happy to support you throughout the entire healing process.

After getting a piercing, your body shows various reactions—and that is completely normal. After all, it is a minor injury that needs to heal.

What you can expect:

– Mild swelling: The pierced area may swell slightly, especially during the first few days. Cooling the area can provide relief.
– Minor bleeding: A few drops of blood immediately after the piercing are nothing to worry about.
– Sensations such as burning or numbness: Many people report a mild burning sensation or a dull feeling—both usually subside quickly.
– Discharge of wound fluid: This is not pus, but a completely natural part of the healing process.

It is perfectly normal for the piercing to feel calm on some days and more noticeable on others; fluctuations during the healing process are part of the experience.
Trust your body and give it the time it needs. And if you are ever unsure, we are here for you at any time.

Freshly pierced ear piercings—especially those in the cartilage—require special attention and plenty of rest to heal properly.

What you should keep in mind:

– Tie your hair up! During the first few weeks, it is best to tie back or pin up long hair so it doesn’t constantly rub against the piercing or get snagged on it.
– Do you talk on the phone a lot? Switch to the side without the piercing for a while. This helps avoid unnecessary pressure and friction.
– Avoid headphones, helmets, and hats if they press against the piercing—even slight pressure can significantly disrupt the healing process.
– Most important point: Don’t sleep on it! Pressure caused by lying on the piercing is one of the most common causes of complications. It can lead to crooked healing, scarring, or granulation tissue—and in the worst-case scenario, the piercing may even have to be removed.

Give your ear as much relief as possible during the initial period. Your piercing will thank you—with a beautiful, pain-free result.

Lip, tongue, and inner mouth piercings require particularly careful aftercare—after all, your mouth is a sensitive area with a rich blood supply and a high concentration of bacteria.

What you should keep in mind:

– Thorough oral hygiene is essential. Brush your teeth at least twice a day and use a mild, antibacterial mouthwash as well.
– Rinse your mouth with clear water after every meal to remove food particles—this reduces the risk of infection.
– Please avoid smoking! You should absolutely not smoke for at least the first 24 hours. Even after that, the rule applies: the less nicotine, the better for healing.
– Avoid highly acidic foods. Fruit juices, tomatoes, vinegar, and the like can irritate the fresh wound.
– Carbonated drinks, spicy seasonings, and very hot foods are also not recommended during the first few days; they can cause a burning sensation and interfere with the healing process.

By maintaining consistent oral hygiene and showing some restraint with your diet, you help your body integrate the piercing quickly and without complications.

During the initial healing period of at least four weeks, you should avoid visiting swimming pools, saunas, and tanning salons, as these places harbor many germs and can interfere with the healing process. After showering, it is important to rinse your piercing with clean water and then dry it thoroughly. Avoid contact with makeup, creams, or hair dyes, as these can irritate the wound. Touch your piercing as little as possible to reduce the risk of infection. It is crucial to avoid pressure and friction, especially with ear or nose piercings. Do not use disinfectants or ointments unless explicitly recommended by our team, and follow the aftercare instructions precisely. You should also avoid contact with other people’s bodily fluids. Support your body by getting enough sleep and maintaining a balanced diet to strengthen your immune system and naturally promote healing. This will help ensure your new piercing heals quickly and healthily.

Generally

Once the initial swelling from your new piercing has gone down, we recommend switching the jewelry to a shorter or smaller version. This step—known as “downsizing”—usually takes place about four to eight weeks after your piercing appointment. It is therefore best to schedule a check-up appointment with us right away.

Why is downsizing so important?
The initial jewelry is slightly longer to accommodate the initial swelling. After twelve weeks at most, the swelling should have subsided enough for you to switch to a smaller size.

If you sleep on your fresh piercing during the initial healing period, there is a risk that the pressure will alter the angle of the piercing channel. This can significantly delay or even prevent healing. Furthermore, the shift in angle might make it impossible for you to wear other types of jewelry later on. In such cases, the only option is often to remove and re-pierce it. To avoid this, please contact us in good time for a downsize.

During downsizing, your jewelry sits snugly and comfortably against the skin, significantly reducing the risk of shifting or migration. This step is crucial for keeping your piercing healthy and ensuring it heals well.

Here’s what downsizing does for you:

  • Your jewelry can no longer get caught, pulled, or bumped.
  • Irritation and migration are significantly reduced.
  • The angle of the piercing remains stable.
  • In the case of oral piercings, it protects teeth and gums from damage.
  • Remaining or recurring swelling is reduced.

Here’s how to keep your piercing healthy and happy for the long run!

This varies from person to person! Some piercings only need to be downsized once; after that, they fit perfectly and stay that way. Others require downsizing multiple times because they are more prone to swelling that subsides only gradually.

Individual predisposition also plays a role—some people are more prone to swelling than others. Remember: your piercing is just as unique as you are.

Downsizing is an important step to ensure your piercing stays healthy and continues to look great. If you feel your jewelry needs adjusting, or if you’re unsure, just get in touch with us—we’d be happy to help!
